Kimbra Cutlip is a feature writer whose work has appeared in numerous publications including the Washington Post, Environment magazine, Baltimore Sun, Cousteau Society's Calypso Log, GeoTimes and many others. She is a former editor for Weatherwise magazine and science writer for the Smithsonian Institution.

With the help of a long list of interesting and unusual jobs, Ms. Cutlip has traveled around the world. She worked as an underwater camerawoman for scientific research in Australia, an insect collector in the jungles of Peru, and a Peace Corps volunteer in Niger, West Africa.

She received a silver award for excellence from Washington Ed Press and the New Horizon's fellowship award from the Council for the Advancement of Science Writing.

She holds bachelor's degrees in Anthropology and MagazineJournalism from Syracuse University and Newhouse School of Communications.
